How long does K-Rend cleaning last?
There is no honest single figure, and you should be wary of anyone who gives you one. Two identical houses on the same street can weather at very different rates depending on how much sun and airflow each wall gets.
What can be said clearly is what makes the difference, and what you can do about it.
What makes growth return quickly
- North-facing and permanently shaded elevations that never dry fully
- Overhanging trees, close hedges and boundary fences restricting airflow
- Gutters or downpipes that leak, overflow or discharge against the wall
- Hard surfaces close to the wall causing constant splash-back
- Sheltered, damp corners and recessed areas
- Render already eroded by previous pressure washing, which holds more moisture
Why soft washing lasts longer than blasting
A pressure washer removes what you can see. Soft washing treats the growth itself and leaves the surface intact, so there is less for the next colony to establish on and re-growth is slower.
It also avoids the trap where an aggressively cleaned wall greens up faster than it did before it was touched.
What makes a clean last
Fixing whatever keeps the wall wet does more than any product. Clearing gutters, sorting a dripping joint and cutting back planting that sits against an elevation are the practical wins.
It is also normal to clean one problem elevation more often than the rest of the house rather than doing all four every time.
Keeping an eye on it
Green returns gradually, and it is far easier to deal with early. If you notice a shaded wall starting to tint again, that is the point to ask — not two years later when the whole elevation has gone.
